What is DeepEdge?

DeepEdge is a cloud-based deep learning development platform for teams that need models running on edge devices. It combines DeepData for dataset management, DeepLabel for AI-assisted, active-learning image labeling, DeepTrain for low-code or no-code training in the browser, and DeepDeploy for hardware-specific optimization and SDKs. DeepZoo provides reference models, and users can also import their own pre-trained models. Deployment targets include Ambarella, Intel, NVIDIA, Xilinx and ARM chips, with Qualcomm noted as in progress, and Jetson devices can be benchmarked through a device farm. DeepEdge also sells platform services for labeling, training and model optimization, with the client keeping IP. The Developers plan is a free 14-day trial with limited compute, Enterprise is an annual license billed monthly, and the home page currently shows a coming-soon notice.

How to get started with DeepEdge

  1. Upload and organize images in DeepData.
  2. Label them in DeepLabel, using AI assist and active learning to reduce manual work.
  3. Train a model in DeepTrain from a DeepZoo reference model, a transfer-learning base or your own architecture.
  4. Optimize with DeepDeploy for the target hardware and export with its SDK.
  5. Run the model on the edge device and iterate as new data arrives.

DeepEdge limitations

  • The Developers plan is a 14-day trial with limited compute time and limited support.
  • Plan prices are not listed; Enterprise uses tiered compute pricing.
  • Qualcomm support is described as in progress.
