What is Bodega One Code?

Bodega One Code is a desktop IDE with an autonomous coding agent, built to run on your own machine. It pairs a Monaco editor and AI chat with a fleet of agents that work in the background, each on its own git worktree, so nothing touches your working branch until you review the diff and apply it. Scheduled loops handle recurring chores such as doc syncs, dead-code sweeps and dependency bumps. Every change passes a five-step Quality Enforcement Layer that checks syntax and types and runs tests before a task counts as done. You bring your own model, either a local one through Ollama, LM Studio or llama.cpp or a cloud key from 10+ provider presets, and an air-gap mode blocks outbound traffic entirely. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. The app is in open beta and free for personal and commercial use, with no license, seat limit or subscription; you only pay your model provider if you choose a cloud model.

Use cases

  • Run coding agents in parallel on git worktrees
  • Code offline with local models
  • Schedule dependency and doc maintenance loops
  • Review agent changes as a diff before merging
  • Ask questions about a codebase in plain language
  • Build custom agents with tool allowlists
  • Switch between cloud and local LLMs mid-session

Who it's for

  • Software developers
  • Privacy-conscious teams
  • Freelancers and agencies
  • Local-LLM enthusiasts

Why use Bodega One Code

  • The full app is free to use for personal and commercial work, with no subscription or seat limits.
  • Code and chats stay on your machine, and air-gap mode keeps telemetry and model calls from leaving it.
  • Parallel agents on separate worktrees let you keep coding while tasks run, and you approve each diff.
  • Built-in verification runs checks and tests before work is marked complete.
  • Any model can be used, so you are not locked to one vendor's pricing or catalog.

How to get started with Bodega One Code

  1. Download the app for Windows, macOS or Linux and open it; no account or license key is needed.
  2. Connect a model: run a local one through Ollama or LM Studio, or add an API key for a cloud provider.
  3. Hand the agent a task in chat, or start several background agents that each work on their own git worktree.
  4. The agent's changes run through syntax, type and test checks and arrive as a scored diff.
  5. Review the diff and apply it with one click, or schedule a loop to repeat recurring maintenance.

Bodega One Code limitations

  • The app is an open beta, so expect bugs and rough edges
  • No model is bundled; you must supply a local model or a cloud API key
  • Cloud model usage is billed by your provider
  • Beta builds ask for an email on an activation screen, which air-gap mode blocks
