Packmind

Open source context engineering for AI coding agents: capture your engineering playbook and distribute it to every assistant and repo.

Open source

What is Packmind?

Packmind is a context engineering and governance tool for teams that code with AI assistants. Teams write their standards, rules and prompts once as a versioned playbook, and Packmind turns that playbook into the instruction files each assistant expects, such as AGENTS.md for Claude Code, .cursor/rules for Cursor and a copilot-instructions file for GitHub Copilot. A command line tool installs packages locally or pushes them into Git repositories, and the platform syncs across unlimited repositories with GitHub and GitLab integration and MCP server support. The open source edition can be self-hosted with Docker Compose or Kubernetes. An Enterprise edition adds role-based access control, auditability, SSO, SAML and SCIM, data residency, linting and premium support at custom pricing.
