What is AI Horde?

AI Horde, also known as Stable Horde, is a volunteer-run network that provides free AI image and text generation. People donate idle computer power by running worker software, and anyone can send prompts through a frontend such as ArtBot, a bot or an app, with no setup. Workers come in three kinds: Dreamers generate images with models like Stable Diffusion, SDXL and Flux, Scribes run language models, and Alchemists handle upscaling and captioning. Developers can integrate through an open REST API. You can use an anonymous API key with lowest priority, or register for a key and earn kudos, the priority credit that workers collect for jobs. Kudos never expire and cannot be sold. The service is run by Haidra, a volunteer non-profit funded by donations and NLnet. There is no price, and speed depends on how busy the network is.

How to get started with AI Horde

2. Optionally register to get a personal API key and earn kudos.
3. Your request joins a queue and a volunteer worker generates the result.
4. Spend kudos to rise in the queue, or run your own worker to earn more.
5. Developers can call the REST API from their own apps.
