SwarmClaw

Open-source, self-hosted runtime for running AI agent teams with memory, schedules, delegation and 24+ model providers.

Open source

What is SwarmClaw?

SwarmClaw is an AI agent runtime and control plane that you host yourself. It gives you one place to build agents, connect more than 24 model providers, delegate work between agents and command-line backends, schedule recurring jobs and keep long-term memory. Providers include Claude Code CLI, Codex CLI, Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, Google Gemini, Ollama and LM Studio. A task board tracks queued, running and failed work with approvals, dependencies and retries, and connectors bridge agents to Discord, Slack, Telegram and WhatsApp. It also tracks token usage and estimated cost, with per-agent daily, hourly and monthly budget limits. Developers and operators who want to run their own multi-agent setup, as an alternative to Claude Code or LangChain, are the audience. SwarmClaw is open source and there are no paid plans on the site; you install it with npm, Docker, a one-line script or a desktop app, and you pay your own model providers. It can also be deployed on Render, Fly.io or Railway.

Use cases

  • Run a team of autonomous AI agents
  • Delegate tasks between agents and CLI tools
  • Schedule recurring agent jobs
  • Connect agents to Slack or Discord
  • Track token usage and budgets per agent
  • Self-host agents with local models

Who it's for

  • AI developers
  • Platform engineers
  • Agent operators
  • Self-hosters

Why use SwarmClaw

  • Everything runs on your own infrastructure, so you control data, providers and costs.
  • Mix hosted models, local models and CLI agents in one place instead of wiring each separately.
  • Budget limits and usage rollups make spending on autonomous agents visible and capped.
  • Open source with documentation, so you can inspect, extend and install extensions.

How to get started with SwarmClaw

  1. Install SwarmClaw with the one-line script, npm, Docker or a desktop build, or deploy it to Render, Fly.io or Railway.
  2. Add one or more model providers and create agents with prompts, skills and tool access.
  3. Queue tasks, set schedules and let agents delegate work to one another or to CLI backends.
  4. Connect chat platforms through connectors so agents handle requests where your team works.
  5. Monitor usage, approvals and task history, and set budgets to keep costs in check.

SwarmClaw limitations

  • You run and maintain the infrastructure yourself
  • You supply access to your own model providers
  • macOS desktop builds carry a signing caveat until notarization is configured
