modl.ai

AI agents that play and test games from a build, then report bugs, glitches and performance problems for QA teams.

What is modl.ai?

modl.ai is an automated game testing service. QA teams upload a build, describe tasks in plain language such as completing the tutorial or reaching level 5, and AI agents play the game and report pass or fail. The agents read what is on screen with visual models and OCR and send simulated inputs, so no SDK, plugin or code change is required. During each run they capture video, logs and performance data, and AI analysts produce bug reports covering visual glitches, missing assets, softlocks, crashes and performance drops, each with a description, evidence and a severity score that QA can adjust. Tests can be started from a dashboard or triggered from a CI pipeline. Today the service supports Android and desktop, with iOS in development, and works best on mobile titles with clear UI such as match, narrative, card or turn-based games. The earlier modl:test product also offered Unity and Unreal Engine plugins. Pricing is not published.

Use cases

  • Run regression tests on game builds
  • Find visual glitches and missing assets
  • Check tutorials and menu flows
  • Detect crashes and softlocks
  • Measure performance across builds
  • Trigger tests from a CI pipeline

Who it's for

  • Game QA teams
  • Game studios
  • Mobile game developers
  • Producers

Why use modl.ai

  • QA teams can start without engineering help because nothing has to be integrated into the game.
  • Routine test cases run automatically, leaving testers to focus on judgement-heavy checks.
  • Reports include evidence and severity, so fixes can be prioritized quickly.
  • Runs can be triggered by CI so new builds are tested as soon as they land.
  • Agents adapt to non-deterministic gameplay using language models.

modl.ai features

  • Plain-language test tasks with pass or fail results
  • Black-box testing with no SDK or code changes
  • Visual models and OCR to read game screens
  • Automatic bug reports with severity scores
  • Video, logs and performance data for each run
  • CI pipeline triggers and dashboard runs
  • Custom-trained model per game
  • Feedback loop to improve agent behaviour

modl.ai integrations

  • Unity
  • Unreal Engine

How to get started with modl.ai

  1. Upload your latest game build.
  2. Define the tasks you want tested in plain language.
  3. Start runs from the dashboard or from your CI pipeline.
  4. Review the generated bug reports with videos, logs and performance data, then fix and repeat.

modl.ai limitations

  • Supports Android and desktop testing today; iOS is in development
  • Fast-paced or timing-critical gameplay is not fully supported
  • Each game needs a custom-trained model, which takes a few days to set up
  • Pricing is not published
