DownForAI is an independent website that tracks whether AI services are working. It watches 817 tools, from large language model providers to image generators, coding assistants and vector databases, and labels each one operational, degraded or in outage. Automated probes check each service roughly every 75 minutes from one central infrastructure, recording HTTP responses and latency, and the site uses official status pages where a machine-readable one exists. Community reports add a human signal, so five or more reports within two hours can flag a service as having reported issues even when probes pass. Developers can embed live SVG status badges in a README or dashboard with no API key, and a JSON API, webhooks and an RSS feed are listed as coming soon.
