Open-source frontend toolkit for putting agents, chat and generative UI inside apps, plus a hosted Intelligence layer for threads and memory.

RunAnywhere
Hosted open models through an OpenAI-compatible API, plus SDKs and engines for running models on-device.
What is RunAnywhere?
RunAnywhere is a developer platform for running AI models either in the cloud or on the user's own hardware. Its hosted product, Wally, serves large open models behind an OpenAI-compatible API at inference.runanywhere.ai, so you can point the standard OpenAI client libraries, Cursor or the OpenCode agent at it by changing the base URL. A command-line tool handles browser sign-in and lets you launch a hosted model explicitly; nothing is routed to the cloud on its own. For on-device work, RunAnywhere provides open-source SDKs for Swift, Kotlin, React Native, Flutter, TypeScript and C++ on a shared core, plus accelerators for Apple Silicon and Qualcomm Hexagon NPUs. Hosted models are billed per million tokens against prepaid credits, and the site says prompt and completion bodies are not retained in production. Current model rates are listed in the console.
Use cases
- Call hosted open models through an OpenAI-style API
- Stream chat completions in an app
- Run coding agents against a hosted model
- Ship a model inside a mobile or desktop app
- Run models offline on a device
- Send images to supported vision models
Who it's for
Why use RunAnywhere
- Existing OpenAI client code works after changing the base URL and API key.
- Hosted and local execution are separate, explicit choices, so a request leaves your machine only when you say so.
- Open-source SDKs share one core, so behavior stays consistent across platforms.
- Usage and spend are visible in the console and from the command line.
RunAnywhere features
- OpenAI-compatible chat completions with streaming
- Model list endpoint for each API key
- Tool definitions and tool choice in requests
- Image inputs on models that support them
- Command-line sign-in with usage and spend checks
- Open-source SDKs for Swift, Kotlin, React Native, Flutter, TypeScript and C++
- On-device engines for Apple Silicon and Qualcomm Hexagon NPUs
- Zero data retention for prompt and completion bodies in production
RunAnywhere integrations
How to get started with RunAnywhere
- Create an account on the RunAnywhere console and buy prepaid credits.
- Run the Wally login command, or create a cloud API key for direct API access.
- List the models available to your key, then call chat completions with the base URL set to the RunAnywhere endpoint.
- Launch a hosted model in a coding agent such as OpenCode, or run a smaller model locally with no account.
- Track usage and spend in the console.
RunAnywhere limitations
- Hosted models are billed per million tokens against prepaid credits, and rates are only shown in the console.
- Claude Code cannot use the endpoint because it speaks a different API format.
- Which models a key can call depends on the environment; a key may get a 403 for a model in production.
- Cloud keys are separate from device SDK keys.

RunAnywhere FAQ
How much does RunAnywhere cost?
Hosted models are billed per million tokens against prepaid credits. The current models and rates are shown in the RunAnywhere console, and commercial terms are in its Terms page.
Does RunAnywhere have an OpenAI-compatible API?
Yes. The base URL is https://inference.runanywhere.ai/v1 and you authenticate with a bearer key, so official OpenAI clients work by changing the base URL.
Is there a free plan?
The documentation describes prepaid credits for hosted models. Running smaller models locally needs no account. Any promotional credit is described in the Terms.
Is RunAnywhere open source?
The on-device SDKs are open source. They expose C++, TypeScript, Flutter, React Native, Kotlin and Swift interfaces built on a shared C++ core.
Does RunAnywhere store my prompts?
According to the vendor, production Wally retains no prompt or completion bodies (zero data retention). Usage and billing records are kept separately.
What are alternatives to RunAnywhere?
Alternatives include Together AI, Fireworks AI, Groq, OpenRouter, Baseten and Ollama for local use.
