Orca

Open-source agent development environment that runs Claude Code, Codex and other coding agents in parallel git worktrees.

Open source

What is Orca?

Orca is an open-source desktop app, which it calls an agent development environment, for running several coding agents at once on the same project. Each task gets its own git worktree, so Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and other agent CLIs can work side by side without overwriting each other's changes. The window brings together the agent terminals, diffs, an editor, a built-in browser, notes and a command-line interface, with a task view that pulls in GitHub and Linear items. You bring your own agent and subscription, and Orca lists more than two dozen supported CLIs including Gemini, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Goose, Cline and Kiro, plus any other CLI agent. A companion app for iOS and Android shows live agent status and usage and lets you keep terminal work moving away from your desk. Desktop builds exist for macOS, Windows and Linux. No paid plans are listed, and the download and source are available from the site and GitHub.

Use cases

  • Run several coding agents in parallel
  • Isolate each task in its own git worktree
  • Review diffs from AI-written changes
  • Monitor agent progress from a phone
  • Switch between agent accounts and track usage
  • Pull GitHub and Linear tasks into agent sessions

Who it's for

  • Software developers
  • Engineering teams
  • Claude Code and Codex users
  • AI-assisted developers

Why use Orca

  • Parallel agents stop colliding because every task runs in its own worktree on the same repository.
  • You keep the subscriptions you already pay for, since Orca runs your agent CLIs instead of replacing them.
  • Review, terminals and browser testing sit in the same window, which cuts switching between tools.
  • The phone app lets you check agent status and usage while you are away from your desk.
  • The project is open source, with source code on GitHub.
