Credyt

Real-time billing infrastructure for AI products, with prepaid customer wallets, usage authorization and per-customer profitability tracking.

What is Credyt?

Credyt is billing infrastructure for AI products that charge for usage as it happens, such as tokens, API calls, compute time or GPU hours. Instead of collecting payment at the end of a billing cycle, it gives every customer a prepaid wallet. Your product sends a usage event, Credyt checks the balance, approves or blocks the action, and deducts the cost immediately, so you do not front infrastructure costs you have not collected. Wallets can hold dollars or custom units you define, and credit grants cover onboarding credits, referral rewards and promotions with expiry dates. A hosted billing portal lets customers top up, view history and set auto-recharge. Pricing models include event-based, volume-based, dimensional, subscription and hybrid setups. Event-level cost tracking shows margin by customer, feature or workload. Credyt is free to build and test, with the first 10 active wallets free each month, then $1 per active wallet per month with no revenue percentage.

Use cases

  • Bill AI usage from prepaid balances
  • Block usage when a balance runs out
  • Charge in tokens or GPU hours
  • Issue free trial and promotional credits
  • Combine subscriptions with usage top-ups
  • Track margin per customer or feature

Who it's for

  • AI product teams
  • Developers

  • Finance teams

Why use Credyt

  • Customers pay before they consume, which protects cash flow when AI costs are variable.
  • No percentage of your revenue and no markup on payment processing fees.
  • Wallets with no activity in a month cost $0, so you pay only for active customers.
  • You can build and test with full API access, no card and no time limit.
  • Event-level cost data shows which customers and features are actually profitable.

  • Full API access in test mode

How to get started with Credyt

  1. Create a product catalog and define pricing, assets and any entitlements through the API.
  2. Register your customers with your own external IDs and subscribe them to a product; Credyt provisions their wallets.
  3. Customers fund wallets through the hosted billing portal or the top-up API.
  4. Your product sends usage events; Credyt authorizes each one against the balance and deducts the cost in real time.
  5. Review profitability analytics and adjust pricing, grants or auto top-up rules.

Credyt limitations

  • Production pricing is $1 per active wallet per month, so very large customer counts add up
  • The first 1M events a month are free, then $2 per million
  • The self-service portal is built for individuals and small teams rather than accounts payable workflows
  • Wallet-native design suits prepaid and usage billing, not invoice-at-month-end collection

Credyt FAQ

How much does Credyt cost?

Building and testing is free. In production it is $1 per Monthly Active Wallet, with the first 10 active wallets free each month and the first 1M events free, then $2 per million.

Is there a free plan for Credyt?

Yes. The To start tier is $0, free forever to build and test, with full API access in test mode, no credit card and no time limit.

Does Credyt take a percentage of revenue?

No. It charges per active wallet, not per dollar you earn, and adds no markup to payment processing fees.

How is Credyt different from Stripe Billing or Lago?

Those platforms bill by invoice and collect payment when the cycle ends. Credyt works from a wallet instead: customers prepay, and each usage event is authorized and debited as it occurs.

Can I charge in tokens or GPU hours?

Yes. Credyt supports custom assets, so you can price in tokens, GPU hours, video minutes or API credits, and hold several asset types in one wallet.

What are alternatives to Credyt?

Alternatives include Orb, Flexprice, Stigg, Stripe Billing and Lago. They differ in whether billing is invoice-based or wallet-based and how they charge. On Debuly, compare Paywalls.ai, Zep and LangChainBitcoin.
