What is LangChainBitcoin?

LangChainBitcoin is a suite of developer tools from Lightning Labs that connects LangChain agents to Bitcoin and the Lightning Network. It has two main parts. LLM Agent BitcoinTools use OpenAI function calling so an agent can hold an on-chain and Lightning balance, send and receive Bitcoin on Lightning, and drive an LND node directly. L402 HTTP API Traversal is a Python wrapper around the LangChain APIChain that lets an agent transparently access APIs that charge per call using the L402 protocol, which builds on the HTTP 402 Payment Required status code and Lightning micropayments. How to get started with LangChainBitcoin

1. Run a Lightning node, such as an LND node, that the agent will use for payments.
2. Add the BitcoinTools to a LangChain agent so it can check balances and send or receive Lightning payments.
3. Wrap APIs with Aperture so they require L402 payment before responding.
4. Use the L402 APIChain wrapper so the agent pays and retries automatically when an API answers with HTTP 402.
