Open-source terminal coding agent, built in Rust on Codex, that emulates the agent harness suited to each low-cost model.
WhereMyTokens
Local-first Windows tray app that tracks Claude Code, Codex and Antigravity token use, quota windows and cost estimates.
What is WhereMyTokens?
WhereMyTokens is a free, MIT-licensed desktop app that sits in the Windows system tray and shows how much of your AI coding quota you have used. It reads the local files left by Claude Code, Codex and Antigravity and turns them into quota windows with reset times, token totals, API-equivalent cost estimates, cache efficiency, active and recent sessions, model usage and activity heatmaps. It can also report git output for repositories you track, so token spend sits beside code produced. Claude limits come from the official Claude Code statusLine, with a read-only fallback that sends only the existing access token to api.anthropic.com. Data stays on your machine in a local index with no cloud sync and no telemetry. An optional taskbar mini display, a macOS menu bar edition and English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese interfaces are included, and the cost display supports USD, KRW and CNY.
Use cases
- Monitor Claude Code usage limits
- Track Codex and Antigravity quota resets
- Estimate API-equivalent cost of coding sessions
- Review token totals by model and day
- Compare token spend with git output
- Watch quota from the Windows taskbar
Who it's for
Why use WhereMyTokens
- See remaining quota and reset times for several AI coding tools in one tray icon instead of checking each tool separately.
- Everything runs locally: no session log upload, no cloud sync, no telemetry, and you never paste API keys into it.
- Cost estimates and cache efficiency numbers help you spot expensive sessions and models before limits hit.
- Git output metrics connect token usage to the code you actually shipped.
- It is open source under the MIT license, so you can inspect how it reads your local provider data.

WhereMyTokens integrations
How to get started with WhereMyTokens
- Install WhereMyTokens with the Windows installer, or unzip the portable build and run it.
- Open the dashboard from the Windows system tray.
- Choose which providers to track: Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, or any combination.

WhereMyTokens limitations
- The main app targets Windows 10 and 11; the macOS Apple Silicon menu bar version is a separate repository and release track
- Currency conversion uses manual exchange rates, not live market quotes
- Request detail is kept for 8 days and hourly precision for 35 days
- Quota limits are shown only when the provider reports them; missing limits are not inferred
- Traditional Chinese locales fall back to the English interface

WhereMyTokens FAQ
How much does WhereMyTokens cost?
The project is published on GitHub under the MIT license and no paid plans or prices are listed by the vendor. Downloads come as an installer and a portable ZIP.
Is WhereMyTokens open source?
Yes. The repository is licensed under MIT, and the README links to development and architecture documentation. Installing the app also means accepting the End-User License Agreement included in the repository.
Which operating systems does WhereMyTokens support?
The main app runs in the Windows 10 and 11 system tray, with an installer and a portable ZIP. A separate WhereMyTokens for macOS repository provides a menu bar app for Apple Silicon.
