prompts.chat

An open-source, CC0-licensed community library for collecting, sharing and reusing AI prompts, with a self-hosting option.

Open source

What is prompts.chat?

prompts.chat is a community platform, released as open source, where people collect, sort and share prompts for AI language models. It began as the web view of the Awesome ChatGPT Prompts repository, started in December 2022 as a way to keep ChatGPT prompts organized. Visitors can browse and search prompts, submit their own with an account, and keep private prompts of their own. Every public prompt is released under the CC0 public domain dedication, so anyone can copy and adapt it without attribution. Teams that want their own copy can self-host: the code runs on Node.js with a PostgreSQL database, supports GitHub, Google, Azure and credential sign-in, and offers white-label branding, categories, tags, change requests for versioning and 11 interface languages. Optional AI semantic search and generation need an OpenAI-compatible API key. The public site is free to use, and the project describes itself as free and open source from day one.
