PAPI

Project management that runs inside your AI coding tools, with a shared plan, board and decision record for teams that vibe code.

What is PAPI?

PAPI gives AI-assisted development a shared layer for project intelligence. It combines a hosted dashboard at getpapi.ai with an MCP server that your AI coding tool connects to, so planning, tasks and decisions live in one place instead of in separate chats. Work moves through a loop of plan, build, review and release, organised into cycles that each land on a shared board. Every person on a team can use a different MCP client, such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or ChatGPT, and still work from the same project. PAPI keeps a decision record, a roadmap, strategy reviews and a quality gate that audits builds, and it tells you what changed without anyone writing a status update. It does not write code or run an AI of its own, and it stores tasks, decisions and build reports but not your source code. There is a free plan with three projects, and Pro and Team plans for more projects and collaborators.

Use cases

  • Plan the next cycle of AI-built tasks
  • Share one board across different AI tools
  • Record architecture decisions with reasons
  • Review builds before they ship
  • Track velocity and scope accuracy
  • Carry lessons between projects

Who it's for

  • Vibe coding teams
  • Solo builders
  • Startup engineers
  • Product leads

Why use PAPI

  • Keeps a team's plan, decisions and progress coherent even when members use different AI coding tools.
  • Removes manual status updates because the board changes as cycles progress.
  • Adds no model costs of its own, since your existing Claude, Cursor or Codex plan does the thinking.
  • Preserves why a choice was made, so later sessions start with the rules and past dead ends already known.
  • Leaves your source code with you; only tasks, decisions and build reports are stored.

PAPI features

  • MCP server that works with any MCP client
  • Plan, build, review and release workflow in cycles

  • Decision record with confidence levels and revisit flags
  • Automated roadmap kept current as work ships
  • Quality gate that audits builds before release (Team)
  • Strategy reviews every few cycles
  • Replay of how decisions were made (Pro)
  • Off-plan build alerts and on-course checks (Pro)
  • Multiple projects in one account

How to get started with PAPI

  1. Tell your AI tool to read the getpapi.ai setup file, which connects it to PAPI over MCP.
  2. Plan a cycle: your AI breaks the backlog into small tasks with clear instructions.
  3. Build the tasks in your own AI tool while the shared board updates.
  4. Run a review so each build is checked and discoveries are logged.
  5. Release the cycle; lessons and decisions carry into the next plan.

PAPI limitations

  • The Free plan is capped at 3 projects
  • A Pro project covers you plus one collaborator; larger teams need the Team plan
  • The Pro price is shown at checkout rather than on the pricing page
  • PAPI does not run an AI model; you pay for AI through the tool you already use
  • The terms describe it as early-access software provided as-is

Yes. Free includes 3 projects, unlimited cycles and the plan, handoff, review and release workflow. New accounts also get Pro free for 14 days with no card.

What plans does PAPI have?

Free, Pro and Team. Pro adds unlimited projects, decision replay, pace tracking, off-plan alerts and one collaborator per project. Team adds shared projects and roles, a quality gate, a shared task pool and API and BI export.

Which AI tools work with PAPI?

Any MCP client. The site names Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and ChatGPT, and says everyone on a team can use a different one.

Does PAPI see my code?
