What is Grammarly API?

The Grammarly API is a set of HTTP REST interfaces that bring Grammarly's AI writing capabilities and admin controls into your own applications. Developer documentation describes a Writing Score API that returns scores for submitted text, such as clarity and engagement, an Analytics API that returns per-user usage like active days, writing sessions, the share of sessions that improved and generative AI prompt counts, and a License Management API that lists users and invitees and removes inactive people from a subscription. Access uses OAuth 2.0: an admin creates credentials in the Admin panel, picks scopes such as scores-api:read or analytics-api:read, and exchanges the client ID and secret for an access token. Typical uses include scoring documents at scale, setting quality thresholds in business processes, feeding Grammarly analytics into BI tools and automating license clean-up. Credentials can be created by admins on Grammarly Enterprise or on institution-wide Grammarly for Education licenses, and the docs say to contact sales if you are not yet a customer.
