What is Runtype?

Runtype is a platform for building AI product experiences such as chat assistants and automation agents. You build Flows and Agents and deploy them to Surfaces, the channels where users reach them, and every plan includes unlimited Surfaces and team members. The Pay as you go plan costs $0, includes $5 in credit to start and lets you set a spend cap. Team is $399/month, or $3,999/year, and adds bring-your-own model keys, longer log retention, per-minute scheduling, onboarding and priority support. Enterprise is custom and adds white-label multi-tenant deployments, SSO and audit trails, and self-hosting in your own cloud. Managed model usage is billed at the provider price plus a platform fee, while bring-your-own-key usage is billed by your model provider directly. A billing page tracks credits and lets admins set a monthly spend cap.

How to get started with Runtype

1. Sign up for the free plan and receive starting credits.
2. Build a Flow or Agent in the dashboard.
3. Deploy it to one or more Surfaces where users interact with it.
4. Monitor usage and credits in Settings, and set a monthly spend cap.
5. Upgrade to Team for bring-your-own-key and longer log retention, or contact sales for Enterprise.

Runtype limitations

• Pay as you go uses platform keys only, with shared rate limits.
• Pay as you go keeps logs for 1 day and limits scheduling to daily runs.
• Managed model usage is billed separately at the provider price plus a 20% platform fee.
• Self-hosting is available only on Enterprise.
• If a free trial ends without a payment method, platform-key models stop working.
