What is Flowable?

Flowable is a business process and case automation platform that now includes an Agentic Case Platform for running AI agents under enterprise controls. It models work with BPMN, CMMN and DMN engines, and the case acts as the harness around each agent: structured steps run deterministically, while scoped agents read documents, check policies and draft assessments with access only to the data and actions the case allows. Agent types include orchestrator, knowledge agents with retrieval augmented generation, document agents for clarification and extraction, utility, evaluator, guardrail and A2A agents. It works with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic or any compatible model you bring, and supports external agents on Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock and Agentforce. Deployment is customer-managed or on Flowable Cloud, shared or dedicated. A free Community Edition of the open source engines is offered for evaluation and learning, while the Case Platform and Agentic Case Platform are priced by users and packages through sales, with Silver, Gold and Platinum support.
