What is Diffusion Studio?

Diffusion Studio is a video editor designed to be driven by either a person or a coding agent. You work on an infinite canvas, arrange scenes spatially, then switch to a timeline for sequencing and timing. An agent such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot or Gemini CLI can analyze footage, cut and caption it, build motion graphics, generate media and export, and everything it creates stays editable. The editor, desktop app, the dapi command-line tool and agent skills are open source under MPL 2.0, and exports up to 4K carry no watermark. Paid plans only add AI credits, which are spent when models transcribe, watch footage or generate video, images, music, speech and sound effects. There is a Free plan with 50 one-time credits, a Pro plan from $25 per month ($19 per month billed yearly) and a Teams plan with custom pricing. It runs in the browser, and the agent workflows need the macOS app.

Use cases

  • Edit video with a coding agent
  • Transcribe and caption footage automatically
  • Remove silences and filler words from recordings
  • Generate video, images, music and speech from prompts

Why use Diffusion Studio

  • The editor, exports and agent workflows are free, so credits are only needed when AI models run.
  • Agents can edit through the same project you open, and anything they make remains editable by hand.
  • Exports up to 4K carry no watermark and do not use credits on any plan.
  • Source is open under MPL 2.0, so the web editor, desktop app, dapi and skills can be inspected and extended.
