What is Seedance?

Seedance is a family of video generation models from the ByteDance Seed team. Seedance 1.0 introduced multi-shot video from text or an image, with 1080p output, smooth motion and close prompt following. Seedance 1.5 pro added native audio, producing voices and spatial sound effects with lip-sync. The latest release, Seedance 2.5, is an audio-video joint generation model that creates clips of up to 30 seconds in one pass and can extend them in further rounds for multi-minute stories. As references it can take as many as 30 images, 10 video clips and 10 audio clips, and offers timestamp-level editing for audio and video, plus green screen, camera perspective and reference-based editing for film and advertising work. Rollout of Seedance 2.5 has begun on Jimeng AI and Doubao Pro, among other platforms, with API access coming through BytePlus ModelArk. The vendor publishes no pricing.
